We have a pair of outreach activities in the mix for November.
First is our community blood drive with the Red Cross. We plan to turn “Black Friday” into “Red Friday”! The holidays are a critical need time for all the blood collection organizations and you could hardly ask for a more meaning way to “give” over the ThanksGIVING holiday. Appointments can be made by going to redcrossblood.com and using sponsor code: 2themax The drive will run from 10 am – 3 pm on Friday, November 25th.
Our second activity will be an ongoing one. Can’t donate blood this time around? Well, no need to feel left out! The Saukville Community Pantry services agencies throughout Ozaukee County and we are now a drop location for non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and this time of year especially, you can drop off winter coats. So throw a little something extra in the shopping cart next time and drop it off. Every little bit adds up and the need here in Ozaukee County is much greater than we tend to realize.
About Saukville Food Pantry
Saukville Food Pantry opened its doors in 2012 to better serve families in need in Ozaukee County. Since opening its doors, they have provided food to 300 families in Ozaukee County each year. Saukville Food Pantry is self-funded through donations, fundraising and volunteers. The food pantry is set up to allow the individual in need to come into the pantry and “shop” for their groceries to provide privacy, dignity and to meet any dietary or taste preferences. Saukville Food Pantry has also broadened its outreach by providing a free community meal every month on the fourth Saturday.
Every year in August, Saukville Food Pantry holds the largest Back to School Drive for local families in Ozaukee County. Over 150 children in need are provided backpacks, school supplies, and shoes to get a head start on their school year. Saukville Food Pantry continues to grow. Your donations allow them to stock their shelves, purchase school supplies and provide warm meals. Thank you for your support!
