Closing Out the Last Week Before Summer!

Next Monday, June 12th, begins our summer session — meaning that there will be a few schedule and programming tweaks that we’ll try to keep in place until the turn of the next school year …

On the wellness side, group classes will end this week with the Thursday Strike! 9:30 am block.  Jim is headed to the University of Evansville (Indiana) with son #3 for his freshman registration.  So … No DOYO on Friday — but note that Kelley WILL be in for the Friday 9:30 Yoga!.  No circuit on Saturday.  Monday .. we kick off the summer.

Changes …. 6:30 am … we add — and note that this is open to everyone — you do not have to be a member to join us for this!!! — Qigong, a very old technique of focused breathing and movement which has its roots in China some 3000 years ago.  The benefits to focusing the breath .. and coordinating it with specific movement patterns are almost too numerous to mention. See one of the previous posts on Qigong for more info.  Suitable for all ages …. 20ish minutes of peace to get your day off to a wonderful start.

Wednesdays will be devoted to mindfulness — with Yoga at 9:30 am and 6 pm along with the Qigong at 6:30 am.  We will shift the 2 early morning boot camps to a single extended open block similar to our Friday DOYO.

5:30 pm classes go away for the summer … replaced by an open block from 4:30-6 pm.  Trainer on site and floor sets will be in place from the morning sessions or .. you can do what you want.  We will retain the 7:30 pm blocks of Tabata on Tuesdays and Thursdays as they continue to be the most popular sessions.

About the open blocks …. those who have done our Friday “DOYO” — Do On Your Own” .. well, these are formatted the same way.  Jim or Jake will be on site to assist as needed but you have the flexibility on start and end time and whether to do the published daily session or something else .. maybe you just want to just on a spin bike for 20 minutes. Up to you.  Floor set, equipment available and the music crankin… you just add the sweat!

For young and young adult athletes, two blocks are available daily for your very important off season conditioning … and we’d like to invite your parents to participate in any of the wellness programming over the summer.  Contact Jim or Jake for details.
